Wired review hogwarts legacy9/25/2023 ![]() Even the rewards are ridiciculous and incoherent where any clothing can just be changed if it has higher stats with no concept of combining things which results in your character looking like a child decorated a room in a eclectic maximalism motifs (á la early Cyberpunk 2077) in order to get the best stats. Have you played Hogwarts? I keep seeing the same paintings over and over and in places that make no sense for them to be there, the only thing you can interact with in the castle are those freaking globes and armillary spheres, the fast travel statue keeps repeating the same 3-4 lines, there is nothing to do in the common room, and the lessons are a joke! It almost feels like a really beefed up mobile game. The alive world is what most open world games try to achieve, but they fail to do so because they decide to go with something generic instead. The world is beautifully done and with detailed drawing, but the game itself lacks depth or any details that makes you want to stop and just feel how alive the world is. I am a Harry Potter fan and a gamer, don’t care about the JK Rowling thing as I am only interested in what an artist creates and not their personal opinions, and I can agree with the article. Definitely a contender for Game of the Year for me. ![]() The crazy part is I wasn’t really hyped on this, but was shocked at how detailed the world is and how much fun it is to play. ![]() If you’re even slightly interested in the game I can’t recommend it enough. ![]() It’s hard to explain but it captures a sense I don’t typically feel in games and it’s been really great. I will say exploring Hogwarts has been full of such awe and gave me this joy of like being a kid back in the 80s and watching the movies that brought that magic to the screen. I don’t hate the movies or anything, they’re fine, it’s just I can take it or leave it sort of thing. Look, as someone who can’t stand the open-world Ubisoft like formula with so much busy work I can tell you honestly, this is one of the most fun open-world games where I do not feel overwhelmed with all the typical busy work routine things you’d find in most-open world games. ![]() There is no boiler plate open world adventure about this game and the sense of imagination is one of its most stand out features. Anyone with eyes and a brain can tell you this is not a 5/10 game. You guys can quit your bullsh*t smear campaign. ![]()
